jVideoDirect process video conversion and fetchers in background.
Files produced will be owned by apache, thereofore appropriate permission is required for folders and files listed below.

If you have trouble with directory permission, below is a reference settings you can follow.

hi Ethan.. i am using Hostgator share hosting... and my joomla not in root directory ..its in sub folder. however, i found that there is no " buffer " folder on my server ..

that means when i installed the component it didnt create this folder.

So... what i should now?

move to other hosting ....
hostgator is known to have host level permission restriction.

Hi there

I have installed the component, and set all the permissions, but now there is no folder called buffer either on my server. My client is on shared hosting with their ISP, and there is no way they are going to move.

How do I get around this to get the tester working so my client can upload video's from their desktop?

If you don't mind to wait until about 15 hours later (tomorrow), version 1.1rc2 will be released. We have new features/tools to help checkup and startup the site a lot faster and easier...
