Hi,

I'm very liking JVD and it has surpassed expectations.

I would like to recommend some additional functions in the back-end Video Database.

It is to include a Search Function in the Video tab; therefore, administrators do not have to scroll through the list of numerous videos in the thousands.

An additional function i would like to request is a filter, similar to the default joomla article/category/section function.

Where the filter would only show by categories.

Another feature i would like to suggest is the automated video deletion with "X" number of reports(Dead Link) because fetcher sites such as mine, videos get taken down very fast on the main fetched site.(Eg: Megavideo, Veoh)

Say for example in the back-end, in configuration there will be a heading with:
"Turn on Automated Video Deletion" with X number of reports.

Well there is one last idea, it's similar to having a Mirror Video. So for example There's Naruto episode 1 on Megavideo and Naruto episode 1 on Veoh. On the playback page it is playing Megavideo(naruto episode 1) under the video box there should be an alternative box saying "Veoh". I don't know how this will exactly function but here's an example:
www.narutowire.com/Naruto-Shippuden-Epis...918ba926a778e8d9db77

(Under the video box are the mirror videos of that)

Well thanks for reading. If you need any clarification i will be pleased to assist.

Great suggestion.
However, there are many technical hurdle that need to jump over.

1. search and filter are ok.
2. deadlink ... How the system know that a video is a dead link. this is in question.
3. this can be done, by putting linkage between videos, linked by admin manually.

We will put this up in the feature implementation queue

thank you

Hey,

To clarify #2 about the dead link for fetcher sites is automated by user reports not by detection. Say for example a video has 10 reports and IF only if the Automated Video Report Config is turned on the reported video will be deleted based on the "X" number of report by users.

(Not detection). Therefore, users will deem the reported video as dead or inappropriate.

I would love having a feature like that but would need to have more options to be useful ...

Admin set what categories this applies too
Admin set number of reports required needed
Admin choose what users can/can't do this
and/or
Admin choose what user level (ACL) is needed
Admin gets sent a message through J! admin

... but rather than have it actually delete the video (and info) from database just have it unpublish so that I or other admins can check and then delete it completely. Maybe have a panic button that allows to delete all reported videos but shouldn't be auto (do leave as option though), users could easily create fake accounts (and usually do) for the sole purpose of deleting videos they just don't like or to aggravate another user they just don't like ... or have their friends target the video or uploader for the same reason.

Anyway, that is just my thoughts on the feature and how it might be *useful* to everyone not just you or me
